Walk along historic River Street while munching on fresh shrimp, crab, oysters and crawfish at the 2016 River Street Seafood Festival. Bring the whole family out for a day of fun and fresh catches by local seafood restaurants and providers. If it’s your first time attending, don’t worry! All you need to do is grab your flip flops, throw on your favorite Jimmy Buffet-esque attire and read through this ultimate festival guide.
When is it? Friday, May 6 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday May 7 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where is it? River Street, of course!
How much is admission? Admission to the festival is FREE, but be prepared to spend on delicious seafood and ice cold drinks.
Where do I park? Downtown meter parking is FREE after 5 p.m. Click here for a list of downtown parking garages.
Will drinks be available for purchase? Yes. Wander along River Street with a cold beer in your hand thanks to Savannah’s open container law.
Will there be fireworks? Yes. Fireworks will blaze the sky on Friday, May 6 at 9:30 p.m. In fact, River Street has fireworks every first Friday of the month!
Will there be activities for children? Yes! There will be a section of the event space for children’s activities.
Besides eating seafood, what else is there to do? Shop ’til you drop! Over 30 crafters and artists will be selling their coastal-inspired wares. Also, you’ll be able to dance along to live music. Check out the band schedule below.
