Rainy days can bring your plans to a halt if you’re unprepared. Although Savannah is abundant with natural beauty, there are plenty of indoor activities to try around town to get you up and out of the house. Don’t let gray skies stop you from enjoying all the city has to offer. Here’s some fun options to try on a rainy day in Savannah.

Pay a visit to the Telfair Museums

Avoid the rain by staying warm and dry in the comforting atmospheres of the Telfair Museums. Between the esteemed Telfair Academy, the historic Owens-Thomas House and the eclectic Jepson Center, there’s so much to see and explore. And with the famous Pulse Art + Technology Festival just weeks away, you have the perfect reason to visit the Telfair Museums in the near future!

Shop ‘til you drop in the city

The New Year is the perfect time to present the new you. And a new you requires a new look for sure. A rainy day provides a great opportunity to take advantage of Savannah’s many shopping options. Head to the south side to find Savannah’s two malls, the Oglethorpe Mall and the aptly named Savannah Mall, and check out the new Tanger Outlet Center in Pooler. And of course, don’t forget the refined shopping selections in the historic district, or your umbrella!

Enjoy the arts at the Lucas Theatre

Despite the rain, the show must go on – and at the historic Lucas Theatre, it will! Since 1921, the Lucas has brought the best musicians, motion-pictures, actors and artists to the Savannah stage. And the tradition of talent continues in 2016!  See what’s next on the event line up here.
