Once upon a time, this building was home to the A.S. Varn & Son oyster and crab factory. Today, the factory is dedicated to celebrating the life, work and history of this Gullah/Geechee community that calls Pin Point home.

Located near historic Savannah, this park borders Skidaway narrows, a part of Georgia’s intracoastal waterway. Trails wind through maritime forest and past salt marsh, leading to a boardwalk and observation tower.

Ossabaw Island State Heritage Preserve
At approximately 26,000 acres, Ossabaw Island is Georgia’s third largest barrier island. Ossabaw Island State Heritage Preserve serves to protect, conserve and preserve the natural and cultural resources of this island for the benefit of present and future generations. Drive through a canopy of Spanish moss and explore one of Georgia’s oldest Southern plantations at this historic site. We especially recommend a trip to Wormsloe Historic Site if you’re a photographer — the breathtaking tunnel of live oaks is extremely photogenic!

University of Georgia Aquarium
Explore exhibits displaying marine animals typical of the habitats found along the Georgia coast. Sixteen exhibit tanks house live animals that represent numerous species of fish, turtles and invertebrates.
