1. Flowers, blossoms and fragrances
The saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers,” but in Savannah, flowers come a little early! Streets, homes and parks are bursting with vibrant colors. Flower varieties cover the city from head to toe, and light breezes travel the fragrances through the air. April is the perfect time to check out Forsyth’s Park Fragrant Garden – a delightful garden filled with blooms that will take your senses on an aromatic journey.

2. SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival
Every April, Forsyth Park transforms into a colorful walkway filled with art. SCAD students, alumni and Savannah high schoolers will spend the morning making extraordinary chalk art like you’ve never seen before. Stroll through the vibrant, chalked-up walkway beneath dripping Spanish moss while admiring the participants’ hard work. At the end of the day, winners are chosen by a panel of artistic judges. This family-friendly Saturday is filled with art, food, live music and breathtaking nature.

3. It’s the Beginning of Beach Season
It’s Tybee time! April kicks off the perfect time of the year to get your base tan! While the ocean still might not be warm enough to swim, the weather is ideal for beach volleyball, soccer, football and jogging. Gather your family and friends together for an unforgettable beach-side gameday! The combination of the warm sun and cool breeze is optimal for those who love to get active by the water. Tybee Island will keep you healthy, happy and sun-kissed.

4. The Perfect Time for Patio Dining
Whether you want to dine under the sun or the stars, April is the prime month for outdoor dining. Start your day with fresh air and a fresh meal at a great Savannah brunch spot like Collins Quarter, B. Matthews or Pacci. Have a breezy cocktail hour with appetizers at one of Savannah’s rooftop pubs and restaurants. Enjoy craft cocktails and a hearty meal at Cotton & Rye. Wine and the beach? Count us in! Over 100 international wine makers are attending this Tybee Island festival, packed with top-notch wine, coastal cuisine and live music. Bring your beach chairs and picnic blankets, and sample wines from around the globe. Whether you’re a wine expert or novice, you’ll definitely learn something new! 6. Walkable Weather
With blossoming flowers, light breezes and bright sunshine – April is the ideal month to get to know Savannah on foot. Strap on your most comfortable pair of shoes and explore the city! Visit all 22 squares, walk along the River or stroll through Forsyth Park. Many tour companies have walking tours – so you can enjoy the wonderful weather, get some exercise and see what Savannah’s have to offer!
